About Me...

I began a serious pursuit of photography while a sophomore in college in 2002. With the aid of a friend in the school's College of Art and a burgeoning dissatisfaction with my path toward a History degree, I borrowed some equipment and let my growing interest take hold. Until that time, most productive artistic ambitions I had were suppressed by a lack of exposure to the proper medium - photography. With a quick lesson from my friend and her Canon A-1 in tow, I hit the ground running and have never looked back.

After graduation, I took some time off and then decided to attend the School of The Art Institute of Chicago for Post-Baccalaureate photo instruction. My year at SAIC was enlightening to the fullest extent, though vastly different than I had imagined it would be beforehand. All things considered, I'm very pleased with the decision I made to enroll there - and equally pleased with my decision to move on with the valuable knowledge I acquired. The experience not only enhanced my appreciation of photography (and its history), but reinforced the necessity of passion in the image-making process. It is with great pleasure and diligence that I continue my futile pursuit of 'the perfect image'.
